SchokoHeimat – district chocolates for Chemnitz and the cultural region

Brief description
Organic, fair and delicious: this is what SchokoHeimat tastes like. This joint project between the Chemnitz publishing house Edition Wannenbuch and the chocolate manufacturer Choco Del Sol from Burgstädt. Because books and chocolate go together perfectly, the two partners have jointly developed district chocolates – with which the taste of Chemnitz, European Capital of Culture 2025, is also to be explored in culinary terms. This way, guests and locals can let the city melt in their mouths.

Regional characteristics
Burgstädt is a small town in a rural area on the outskirts of Chemnitz, which once grew strong as an industrial metropolis. This tradition – for example in mechanical engineering – still characterizes the Saxon region today, even though many jobs have fallen victim to industrialization. The population is older than average. But the creative scene is very lively.
